This class is full.
Darlene Strong has taken us on numerous adventures in the stained glass world from winter mittens to feathers to garden stakes. This time, we are headed “by the sea”. She has a few choices of patterns (fish, sea shells, starfish), so you might want to think ahead of time if you would like to create shells, or fish! You will make 2 or more aquatic creatures, depending on your glass experience and the detail/difficulty of the pattern you select.
For artists aged 14+
Class size is limited to 4 participants.
All supplies are included in the cost of the class.
Please Note:
You will need hand strength to take this class; successful glass cutting requires 5-10 pounds of pressure by hand.
You will be standing for long periods of time with this class as well.
Open toed shoes are NOT allowed in the glass studio.
If you are pregnant, or think you might be, working with stained glass is not recommended.
Our glass studio is downstairs so you must be able to navigate stairs.
DYK: that Darlene's glass classes will have you trained up enough to use the glass studio on your own? Ask Darlene about the skill requirement to get to this level!
Registration for this class closes midnight, June 11th.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Apparently, I have been making art messes since I was 3 years old. Although I learned my art mediums mostly by trial and error, I did achieve some formal training: Diploma in Graphic Design, 1 year fashion Design and a Certificate in Interior Decorating. As well, I have attended many Art workshops.
I have tried many, many, forms of art through the years, but I always come back to Acrylic & Watercolor. I have been instructing these mediums for over 25 yrs and Stained Glass for about 15.
It's my passion, to see others become passionate about creating! I own a studio at Rocanville where I offer private Art lessons and Paint Parties and some retail art supplies. When I get a minute or two, I even create my own art. I am thrilled to be a part of MVAC and for the opportunity to share my experience with others.
