ABOUT OUR 🧑🎨 ARTIST
Ah Ram Kim and her husband came to Moosomin (and Canada) about a year and a half ago. She chose cooking as her self-expression when she first came to Moosomin but has since returned to more traditional art forms. Ah Ram majored in fine arts in Korea and has worked as a professional artist, participating in a variety of exhibitions. She majored in western painting but became better known for sculptural and installation work. Ah Ram has run a private studio where she taught art to both children and adults in small class settings. She is able to teach a wide variety of media, including pencil drawing, pen drawing, soft and oil pastels, conté, acrylic and oil painting. Ah Ram can also teach traditional Asian ink painting, Korean-style colour painting (jinchaehwa), and media-based works that incorporate photography or video. She believes that sincere creative energy - whether from a child, farmer, homemaker, or elder - comes through clearly on paper or canvas and she can’t wait to work with you!
