What is needle felting?
Needle felting is a fibre art. It involves, basically, taking a ball of wool and stabbing (I’m sure it is more finessed than this but I need to take the class to find out the intricacies) it repeatedly with a sharp, barbed needle, to sculpt it into two and three dimensional shapes.
All supplies for this class are provided.
What are we creating?
We will be sculpting our own little bird similar to the bird shown in the advertisement.
Why is this class so cheap?
The cost of this class is being supplemented by a grant from the South East Sport, Culture and Recreation District. It costs a mere $5/person to take part in this class.
Who is teaching this class?
Rhonda Lamb will be our instructor. She will be travelling from Kronau (just outside of Regina) to show us how to make our little birdies.

She was motivated to learn about various types of fibres and the wide array of creative opportunities this medium can offer.
Felting just “felt” right. Rhonda has been exploring the felting medium for over 10 years; she enjoys needle felting, wet felting, and nuno felting. Rhonda’s vision since beginning her journey in felt has been to create unique, technically strong, seamless artwork in fashion. She has been fortunate to take workshops with internationally recognized felters, including Fiona Duthie, Katia Mokeyeva, Sharon Costello, Jessica de Haaus, and Andrea Graham. Who can attend the class?
Anyone . . . parents, use your discretion with your kids . . . the needles are SHARP.
We need a minimum of 3 people to run the workshop and Rhonda will accept up to 8 people.
